A nurse directs resident care by overseeing medication management, plus all medical appointments including transportation. She supervises several resident care specialists who administer medications ordered by their doctor 24/7. In addition, we are creating an on-site medical staff to include a psychiatrist, medical doctor and holistic therapist. This collaborative model will foster the best possible outcome for our residents, allowing the medical community to gain insights through being in their home and collaborating with staff. Thus we will be able to identify and respond to issues on an almost immediate basis.

Meals are an important part of resident’s health, and we serve three meals daily. There are menu alternatives and we avoid using concentrated sweets and processed food. Our goal is to utilize homegrown food from our own garden and from local farms. We believe in the benefits of nutritious meals artfully presented. We generally run a three week cycle for spring/summer and again for fall/winter. Click on button at bottom to see menus.

We employ many non-invasive holistic techniques for wellness, including clinical aroma therapy, chair yoga, meditation, gong bath, light therapy and drumming. We plan to employ an intuitive energy practitioner offering loving guidance and techniques that support emotional balance, cognitive health and social functioning.

We participate in Mystic's business and cultural community and offer mini courses on health and a variety of other topics. Our home engages in informal teaching, just as a family would, about manners, hygiene and social life. We believe all of life is a learning opportunity and should be joyful.
